The Old Mule

A view from my back porch…

  Under the canopy of the big trees shaded by the cool welcoming of the old back porch we spent time making up a batch of homemade peach ice cream. The fact that it was ninety something elsewhere on the farm our time was spent relaxing in the calm sounds of quietness that has been heard at the old farmhouse for just about my lifetime now.  We prefer the solitude of simple country at its best. Only the distant sound of a crop duster making laps across a field found its way into our space. As for the ice cream it made the intended splash one spoonful at a time. Where else than in Georgia can you find sweet peaches rising out of salted ice on the best day that life has to offer…………….…Dan
