A view from my back porch…
Forty acres and a mule was sure a sight many years ago. That was my thoughts as I gazed down across the back fifty yesterday as blue sky's gently hovered overhead. When you place the sum of several hundred acres in the mix you will find the same clouds watch over every square inch. I think the muleskinners of the past for the most part were simple farmers just tuning up their once four legged tractor to hew a simple living out of a dusty field. I did not say easy living which to this day on that score similarity remains although our tractors drink fuel and our feed troughs have run dry.
What thoughts one can have when all is well where progress is made the same ole way. With a hands on attitude, pride in a job well done, all being lead by a hope in a greater tomorrow that carries any day steadily on course. I`m grateful to still be counted among those with a vision sighted on all things country…………………………..Dan
